We’re excited to announce the release of Contentverse 8.1, an even better and easier way to manage your content. With this new version of Computhink’s flagship document management software comes innovative additions and updates (and, of course, some resolutions to customer requests).
The biggest new addition to Contentverse is EasyIndex, our custom front-end capture tool, which allows users to scan their documents into Contentverse and automatically index them with the help of zonal Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Using prepared templates, these documents are immediately searchable and can then be routed (automatically, again) to the proper destination based on document type and features. You can search for a document using any indexed word within the document, so finding that annoying expense report or invoice will no longer be as frustrating or time-consuming. We have to point out how much time you’d save using this feature: a lot.
“Contentverse is designed to easily capture, store, and access your content in an organized, secure, and central repository,” said Rajesh Ramachandran, Director of Product Development at Computhink. “With the latest features, Contentverse even further shortens the time it takes to input physical and electronic documents by using intelligent OCR to extract meta-data and automatically index, significantly reducing the time it takes to access your content”.
We didn’t just add EasyIndex, though. We also threw in something the devs are calling “enhanced document life cycle.” This feature empowers (that’s right, empowers) users to designate levels of ownership within Contentverse, such as folders, sub-folders, or documents. Remember that RFP that you were working on diligently for a whole two weeks, but then Donna down the hall accidentally deleted it? OUCH! Well, with this new feature, Donna can’t touch your hard work because you “own” that document until said ownership is removed. Less errors and time wasted and higher efficiency sounds pretty good, eh? Quick answer, yes it does.
Another enhancement to Contentverse is the ability to change the key field of a document type. Users are now able to change the key field after indexing a document, rather than before, if necessary.
We’re also pretty pumped about this major addition to Contentverse 8.1: localization framework of UI to allow for multiple languages. This convenient new feature allows the user to adapt Contentverse to various languages (contact us for information on availability of Contentverse in a specific language) – sorry, but “Dothraki” won’t make the cut.
Of course, the above enhancements only touch on the continuing improvements that we’ve packaged into Contentverse. On top of those fancy new upgrades, some glitches and minor usability problems have also been fixed or removed. We could continue this list for a few more pages, but we’re sure you get the gist; this new version of Contentverse is pretty cool. And remember, any customers on maintenance get to upgrade for free.
